Are You Laughing 300 Times a Day?

Children laugh approximately 300 times a day. Adults are closer to 10–15 times. When was the last time you laughed?

We are inviting you to increase your laughter moments by practicing our June featured I Laugh Meditative Movement™.

This movement reminds me that I can release stress simply by laughing. Research is being done on the many positive aspects and effects of laughter and Mayo Clinic's article, Stress relief from laughter? It's no joke is a great resource to help you understand the short and long–term benefits. Here is what they say:

Short-term benefits. Laughter can:

  • Stimulate many organs,
  • Activate and relieve your stress response,
  • Soothe tension. Laughter enhances your intake of oxygen-rich air, stimulates your heart, lungs and muscles, and increases the endorphins that are released by your brain.

Long-term effects. Laughter can:

  • Improve your immune system,
  • Relieve pain,
  • Increase personal satisfaction.

Laughing improves your mood. Practicing the I Laugh Meditative Movement™ reminds you how laughter feels in your body. You can pay attention to how your breath and belly move as the energy emerges out of your mouth. You hear your own laughter. Have you really listened to how your laughter sounds? You can get in touch with the pure joy that a laugh brings forth. Best of all, laughing is free and can be done whenever you want more fun in your life.
